The Fratellis have announced that they will play at a special tour for key workers later this year.

The Chelsea Dagger hitmakers will perform at Virgin Radio UK’s The Big Thank You Tour in front of 35,000 key workers and their families at the OVO Hydro.

Fratellis recently won The King Tut’s Songwriting Award at the 2021 Specsavers Scottish Music Awards. 

The rockers picked up their award at the Barrowland Ballroom, and will return to the East End venue next year on their headline tour for their latest album.

Since releasing the album, Half Drunk Under A Full Moon, in April, the band have been busy performing and undertaking environmental and charity work.

They played at the Common Ground Festival during COP26 in Glasgow, and hope to be the first fully climate positive band in a partnership with Beyond The Green and Melinda Woolf’s Future for Humanity Foundation.

By growing hemp to manufacture sustainable products from building materials to clothing, they are working on reducing their carbon footprint.

During the Euro 2020 tournament this summer, Fratellis released their version of Scotland's unofficial football anthem Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, with all proceeds going to children's charities

Performances for the headline tour take place on March 24 and 25. 

They will play the OVO Hydro for the Virgin Radio UK Big Thank You Tour on December 20.
