ASPIRING Scottish chefs gathered in Glasgow yesterday to watch a demonstration from a top cook hoping to inspire the next generation.
Culinary students from across Scotland visited City of Glasgow College's city campus to see a skills demonstration from the college's executive chef and Scotland's national chef, Gary Maclean.

During the demonstration, Mr Maclean, who won MasterChef: The Professionals Champion 2016, created a sustainable dish of creel caught lobster ravioli and Shetland mussels with fresh greens and herbs from the college gardens.
Speaking at the event he said: "Events like this are very important in helping encourage our future generation of chefs into an industry which offers many opportunities for young people.
"I learned so much during my own time at college, you gain the skills and experiences required for a career in an exciting sector which can take you in so many different directions."
