If your young ones are bursting with energy at this time of year then we might just have the perfect solution for you.

The Elder Park Junior Parkrun is held every Sunday at Elder Park on Langlands Road in Govan and won't cost you a penny.

Children between the ages of four and fourteen are invited to lace up their running shoes and get involved in the non-competitive event.

The 2-kilometre track is suitable for all abilities and parents are even welcome to run alongside participants.

Dedicated volunteers will be on hand to make sure that no one comes in last in the race which is 'run for fun.'

If runners are keen to keep track of their pace, then they can print off a barcode before taking part which will automatically record their finish times.

Organisers said: "The aim is to have fun.

"Please come along and join in whatever your pace.

"If you're reading this and wondering if parkrun is for you, it is!"

The Elder Park Junior parkrun takes place every Sunday at 9:30 am with marshalls posted all around the course to keep participants safe.
