GLASWEGIANS have shared their 'disappointment' after reports of a party that allegedly broke lockdown rules being held at Downing Street days before Christmas last year.

We previously reported that Boris Johnson came under fire when the reports emerged a few days ago.

The Prime Minister has since ordered an investigation into the event which reportedly took place during December 2020 at No.10. 

People from in and around Glasgow have voiced their thoughts about the news.

Glasgow Times: Devon McCole, 20, from Glasgow. Devon McCole, 20, from Glasgow.

Devon McCole, 20, from Glasgow said it was a "slap in the face". 

She said: "It just made me feel really rubbish, I've been thinking about everyone that's had to isolate the past year. 

"It was not fair at all, it was a slap in the face." 

Glasgow Times: Stuart Menzies, 26, from Lenzie.Stuart Menzies, 26, from Lenzie.

Stuart Menzies, 26, from Lenzie said he was "unsurprised" when he heard the reports. 

He added: "Frankly the whole thing is ridiculous. I know it's the same that everyone's saying but honestly just how can we expect anyone to know how to lead a country if they can't even stick to their own rules. 

"It is just outrageous." 

Glasgow Times: Emily Beckwith, 20, from Bothwell. Emily Beckwith, 20, from Bothwell.

Emily Beckwith, 20, from Bothwell commented: "I'm honestly not surprised to be honest which is really disappointing because that's the last thing you should expect from your Prime Minister but I'm not shocked at all."

Glasgow Times: Kennedy Leitch, 44, from Balfron. Kennedy Leitch, 44, from Balfron.

Kennedy Leitch, 44, from Balfron described the reports as "indefensible".

He said: "How can you ask us to conform with restrictions if you are not interested in following them yourself?

"It's indefensible, nobody can defend it."

Glasgow Times: Chris Opoku, 20, from Toryglen. Chris Opoku, 20, from Toryglen.

Chris Opoku, 20, from Toryglen added: "I don't think it was fair at all because of course people were locked down, had to go through a really lonely Christmas and all that. 

"So for us to limit and make the sacrifices, the people in leadership should also limit and make sacrifices."
