A WOMAN decided to go Christmas shopping rather than wait in a four hour queue for a booster jab as Glaswegians faced a third day of queues.

Chantelle Alexander decided to leave the queue after facing waits of up to three hours. She said: “I said: do you know what? Just forget it - I’ve got Christmas shopping to do.

“It would be a good thing if they opened up more vaccination centres because I wouldn’t mind travelling. I’ve got a car so I wouldn’t have minded travelling if it meant I didn’t have to wait for three to four hours.

“I definitely want to get it done so I’m going to try elsewhere.”

People waited in lines outside for up to four hours in the cold for their shots after slots opened for over-30s on Monday and over-18s on Wednesday.

Queues at Glasgow Central Mosque stretched along Ballater Street in the Gorbals.
