A 21-year-old man has been arrested over an 'attempted murder' bid outside Glasgow Central Station last night.

The disturbance took place at around 7:55pm on Thursday, December 16 with two other men arrested on suspicion of serious assault.

It is understood that one man was taken to hospital for emergency medical attention and remains there now.

Gordon street was cordoned off last night following the incident with a large police presence that is still in place today.

A British Trasport Police spokesperson said: “British Transport Police received a report of an assault outside Glasgow Central station at 7.53pm on Thursday, December 16.

"Paramedics also attended, and a man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

"A 21-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and is due to appear at court on Monday 20 December. Two men were also arrested on suspicion of serious assault and taken to police custody.

"Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and a cordon remains in place while officers assess the scene."
