A FOOTBALL agent was fined £260 on Tuesday after he admitted careless driving.

Alan Houldsworth, 33, was caught speeding behind the wheel of a blue Mercedes Gle 300 while on Glasgow's M73 on January 15, 2020.

Prosecutor Kyle Dalziel told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "At 8.25pm, police observed Houldsworth on the motorway.

"He was overtaking a number of vehicles while driving at 90 miles per hour in a 70 zone.

"Police were able to stop him a short distance later between the M74 and M73 merger.

"He was cautioned and charged and made no reply."

Houldsworth, who has represented stars at clubs such as Celtic, Rangers and Dundee United, had originally been charged with dangerous driving.

But, the Crown accepted a plea for the single charge of careless driving.

Sheriff Bernard Ablett also added four penalty points to the licence of Houldsworth, of Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, as well as fining him.
