A MAN has been left with serious injuries after being assaulted in Hamilton.
The 34-year-old was taken to hospital following the incident on Donaldson Street at around 5.30pm last night.
Police received a report of an assault.
Locals reported the area being taped off after an investigation was launched.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Tuesday, December 21, officers were called to the Donaldson Street area of Hamilton, following a report of an assault.
"The victim, a 34-year-old man, was taken to University Hospital Wishaw with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
