Did you know that 25% of the population sets New Year’s Resolutions? But only a quarter of us keep them up.

From eating healthier, keeping fit or reading more, the dawn of another year is an obvious junction to set some new goals.

One of the most popular, according to a survey by YouGov, is taking up a new hobby, which 18% of Brits endeavoured. But where to start?

At Glasgow Clyde College, we have a wide range of evening and weekend leisure Love to Learn classes, which run in 8-week blocks four times a year across our three campuses in Anniesland, Cardonald and Langside.

One of the most important reasons for having a hobby is that it gives you an outlet for enjoyment rather than concentrating purely on work. The classes are offered outside of usual working hours, making them extremely accessible and can be undertaken in your spare time; win win!

Whether you are looking for an opportunity to learn a new skill, take up a new hobby, make new friends or just have some fun, our classes include art and design, computing skills, DIY projects, baking and cake decorating and even a class titled, “Calming Chaos in your Home and Life”, so there really is something for everyone.

Superhero fans will be keen to hear our popular Batman course is returning and we’re offering a course all about one of the world’s most popular toys, Lego.

In fact, the 2022 courses are one of Glasgow Clyde College's most diverse programmes to date, and while some of the courses will still be taking place online, the Love to Learn programme endevours to return full time to classroom-based face-to-face teaching in the new year.

We’re proud to attract learners of all ages including some students who’ve been in attendance for over 12 years and a few who are regular participants well into their eighties. For many attendees, these courses are a hugely important part of their lives, socialising and learning new things in an informal setting.
