Shocking images show the remains of a torched van which has not been cleared from a cemetery in Glasgow after 25 days.

The van was set alight and abandoned in Lambhill Cemetery in Maryhill after being rode repeatedly on the grass and over graves on December 2. Glasgow Times:

Images and video footage from December 27 show the van is still on the road in the cemetery, owned by Glasgow City Council

The ground surrounding the van is covered in shattered glass and blackened debris, and the grass where the van has been parked is charred from the fire.Glasgow Times:

Damage caused by the joyriding has also remained, with extensive tire tracks all over the grass and next to gravestones. Glasgow Times:

Donna Hamilton, 45, is upset as both of her parents are buried close to where the damage is, and there is a huge tire track across the front of their graves.

Donna said: "I feel disgusted, sick, angry... I can’t believe it’s still the same way as it was." Glasgow Times:

She says that the position of the van has now affected other cars passing through and they have had to drive on the grass. Glasgow Times: The tire mark next to the grave of Donna Hamilton's parents. She added: "It’s a lot worse as cars have now been using my mum and dad's graveside to drive by and it’s a foot of muck and mess."

Glasgow Times:

Holly Hughes said: My gran’s grave is in the same location as where this van has been dumped.

"Absolutely disgusting and even worse that after all these weeks it has not been removed.

"I didn’t get the chance to visit at this special time of the year due to these vandals leaving the area in a state."

Glasgow Times:

Glasgow City Council has been contacted for comment.

SNP MSP for Maryhill and Springburn Bob Doris said: When I initially contacted Glasgow City Council they informed me that the damage to graves had been relatively minimal but of course distressing to relatives.

"They had indicated that the vehicle would be removed within the week and any required repairs carried out in the graveyard.

"It is disappointing this does not appear to have happened and I will of course once more pursue this matter with Council officials."
