A MAN has been taken to hospital following a crash on a busy Glasgow motorway. 

Emergency services responded to the scene on the M74 westbound near to the M8 interchange after the alarm was raised at around 10.30am today. 

It is understood that the incident involved one car. 

Officers confirmed one man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on the M74 westbound near the M8 interchange in Glasgow around 10.30am on Wednesday, December 29.

"One man has been taken to hospital by ambulance."
