Merchant City and Trongate City Council announced today that the roads around Parnie Street, King Street, and Osborne Street will be closed to traffic on numerous occasions between January 14 and 20.
Additional closures and parking bay suspensions during the filming period will affect Bell Street, Walls Street, High Street and Albion Street.

Pedestrian access to homes and local shops will be maintained over the filming period with special safety marshalls in place.
Although there has been no official confirmation as to what the filming will be for, it is rumoured that the Merchant City location could be used for scenes in the upcoming HBO max film, Batgirl.
Filming for the blockbuster, which will star Brendan Fraser and Leslie Grace, has already taken place in the city seeing George Street transformed into a snowy Gotham in December of last year.

Popular vintage clothing shop the City Retro has now given speculators a further clue by revealing that film bosses have asked them to keep a Christmas window display intact for the duration of the shoot.
On social media, they said: “Don't be surprised by our shop window.
"It will remain looking festive for a few weeks due to some filming happening in the area, we were asked nicely if we could keep our display up as the producers loved the look of it and the movie is based in Christmas time!
“Hopefully we could possibly see our little store on the big screen?
"That would be just awesome.”
