POLICE are hunting for two individuals in “dark clothing” following a fire in an East End pub.

Cops say the pair were spotted running from the scene towards Dunn Street at The Dalmarnock Inn in the early hours of Monday morning after a fire was set deliberately.

Anyone with information is advised to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0491 of January 3.

We reported yesterday that police are treating the incident as deliberate.

Pictures taken at the scene by our photographer showed damage caused by the blaze with one window of the pub blown out completely and surrounded by a thick layer of black soot.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.15am on Monday, January 3, officers were called to a report of a fire at a building on Old Dalmarnock Road, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing and the fire is being treated as wilful.

The force tweeted earlier this afternoon in an appeal for information. They said: “We are appealing after a fire was set at a bar on Old Dalmarnock Rd, Glasgow, around 1.55am on Mon, 3 January.

"Two people wearing dark-clothing were seen running from the building around the time in the direction of Dunn Street. Anyone with info call 101, inc 0491 of January 3.”
