SCOTTISH indie band The Twilight Sad have cancelled their upcoming Glasgow gig due to concerns over Covid.

The group, from Kilsyth, told fans on Twitter that they were no longer performing at scheduled dates in Glasgow, Leeds and London.

They were originally supposed to play at the Old Fruitmarket on January 21, but are now offering refunds as they cannot reschedule at the moment.

Lead singer James Graham also took the time to post a personal comment on the decision.

He tweeted: "I’m gutted about the gigs in Jan having to be cancelled. From a personal point of view I’m just not able to do the gigs anymore.

"My wife is eight months pregnant and I can’t take the risk as it would break my heart if I missed the birth. Before Omicron the risk seemed low but now… James."

Fans offered their support to James, with one fan writing: "Congratulations James! Gigs can wait.

"You’re about to have the most important few weeks of your life. We’ll be here when the time’s right to go back out again, don’t worry about that. Now go and get some sleep in while you still can!"
