A woman has died in a car crash near Rutherglen.
The 55-year-old was struck down by a vehicle on a busy stretch of Croftfoot Road at around 6:35 pm last night, Thursday, January 13.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are now searching for anyone with information regarding the incident.
Officers in South Lanarkshire are appealing for witnesses after a 55-year-old woman was hit by a car and killed on Croftfoot Road earlier this evening.

Sergeant Adnan Alam from Motherwell Road Policing said: “Enquiries into this incident are at an early stage.
"It has happened on a busy road, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or has dash cam footage from the scene to get in touch via 101 quoting incident reference number 2816 of 13 January 2022.”
