A POLICE officer will stand trial accused of crashing into a motorcyclist.
Ian Hamilton, 51, allegedly struck Paul Farquhar in Glasgow's Royston on November 14, 2019.
Court papers state Hamilton "drove a vehicle without due care and attention or without consideration for other people using the road or public place."
Allegations state he collided with Mr Farquhar's motorcycle while he was riding it and caused damage to both vehicles.
Mr Farquhar is also said to have been "injured" as a result of the collision.
Hamilton - who did not attend - pleaded not guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the single charge of causing injury by careless driving.
Prosecutor Jennifer Sillars stated: "The matter concerns the accused who is a police officer for Police Scotland.
"At the time of the incident, he was a road traffic officer.”
Sheriff Sean Murphy QC fixed the summary trial without a jury for next month.
He ordered that no details about the police vehicle can be revealed meantime.
Hamilton, of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, had his bail continued.
