FIVE vans were set on fire at an industrial estate in Vishaw.

Firefighters were called to Netherton Industrial Estate on Netherdale Road around 6.30pm on Tuesday, January 11 after reports of the blaze.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and the fire was extinguished safely. There were no injuries.

Police launched an investigation and are asking anyone with information or footage to get in touch.

Detective Constable Murray McMillan, of Wishaw Criminal Investigation Department, said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt as a result of this reckless act.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have any information about this incident to contact us.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and who hasn’t already spoken to police, or any motorists with dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch.”
