AN ENERGY supplier has said a 'product failure' caused homes in Dalmarnock to be left without heating or hot water at the weekend.
Vital Energi confirmed claims that Athlete's Village residents in the city's East End were experiencing an outage between midday on Saturday and Sunday night.
The disruption was caused by a 'product failure', they said, and engineers were on site from Saturday morning, following reports of dropping pressure.
The company said they are 'deeply apologetic'.

Jim Thompson, Vital Energi's Regional Manager in Scotland, said: "The system is currently operating a contingency storage heat and hot water supply while we replace the failed product. The energy centre is being closely supervised and remotely monitored.
"We are deeply apologetic that customers have experienced no heat and hot water for a significant amount of time. We are investigating the feedback received on our out-of-hours customer service centre to ensure we continue to provide customers with clear updates.
"We will be in communication with all customers within the next couple of days. We thank you for your patience and apologise for the disruption it has caused."
