A WOMAN threatened to fly kick police officers after she was arrested for hitting a stool against her aunt’s window.

Kelly-Ann Meenan, from Hackney, London, was within her aunt’s home in Barlanark on Christmas Eve 2020 when the incident took place.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, the prosecutor said: “After drink had been consumed, a conversation took place. The accused started shouting at her aunt and she was asked to leave.

“She headed into the back garden. She hit the kitchen window with a stool, causing it to crack and smash.

“At 10.30pm police officers attended. When being arrested and conveyed to the police van, she began to shout ‘f**k off w*****s, let me go or I’ll f*****g fly kick you. F**k off you f*****g c***s.

“Whilst within the van and on the way to Govan police station, she continued to shout and swear. She started to kick her legs and hit her head against the walls. She continued in this aggressive conduct.”

Due to Meenan’s aggressive manner, she was not cautioned and charged.

The Crown had no information available regarding the cost of the damaged window.

Meenan, 41, appeared in court to be sentenced after previously pleading guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, throwing a stool at the window, challenging police to fight, and uttering threats of violence.

Her lawyer explained that his client was anxious to have the matter resolved.

Sheriff Allan Findlay said: “I’ll put some support in place and get the order transferred down to London if you’re still staying there.”

Meenan was ordered to be under social work supervision for one year.
