GLASGOW will soon be home to an outer space themed fun fair. 

Silverburn Shopping Centre will welcome the Galactic Carnival from March 25, which includes thrill rides, family experiences and food and drink.

The fairground, from Global Events and Attractions, will operate from the green car park until April 18, giving families the opportunity to have a fun day out over the Easter holidays.

The company are continuing their partnership with Silverburn after the success of their last event, Spooktacular at Halloween. 

Offering an four-hour wristband which provides unlimited access to rides, at least 14 rides are already confirmed for the park with more to be announced.

"Throughout the pandemic we have seen a desire for outdoor affordable events that offer great value for money. 

"We have created the Galactic Carnival for the people of Scotland to enjoy more rides, fun and make memories together.” 

As well as classic favourites like the Dodgems, Waltzers, tea-cups and wheel ride, visitors can enjoy "sharp turns, 180 degrees and gravity defying drops" promised by the Spinning Mouse Coaster. 

For those looking for a calmer experience, Galactic Carnival are offering autism friendly sessions where music will be turned off or very low, rides will be slower where possible and the lights will still be on.

These sessions take place from 12pm to 4pm on Thursday March 31, and from 5pm to 9pm on Monday April 4.Glasgow Times:

Tickets for children and those under 1.2 metres are priced at £12 plus booking fee when purchased in advance or £17 on the door.

Adult tickets priced at £15 plus booking fee when purchased in advance or £20 on the door.

Family tickets, for two adults and two children (height restrictions apply), are also available at £45 in advance or £65 on the door.
