A SECTION of the M8 has been closed for almost eight hours following a two-vehicle crash this morning.
The motorway is still closed westbound between junctions 12 and 13, while lanes three, four and five eastbound also remain closed.
Westbound junctions 10 and 11 on slips have also now been closed.
The M80 is still closed southbound to assist with recovery.
Drivers are facing delays with queues stretching back to junction 10, and are asked to use alternative routes and give themselves plenty of travel time.

Images published by Traffic Scotland earlier today showed emergency services on the scene after a lorry appeared to crash into a barrier, spreading across both directions of the motorway.
The lorry had also crashed into another car.
One eyewitness described it as "the worst traffic accident I have ever seen."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.50am on Friday, January 21 police were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the M8 westbound near junction 13.
"Officers are at the scene and the westbound carriageway is closed. One lane of the M80 slip road remains open.
"Enquiries are ongoing. Drivers are urged to use alternative routes."
