A SECTION of the M8 has been closed for almost eight hours following a two-vehicle crash this morning.

The motorway is still closed westbound between junctions 12 and 13, while lanes three, four and five eastbound also remain closed.

Westbound junctions 10 and 11 on slips have also now been closed.

The M80 is still closed southbound to assist with recovery.

Drivers are facing delays with queues stretching back to junction 10, and are asked to use alternative routes and give themselves plenty of travel time.

The lorry had also crashed into another car.

One eyewitness described it as "the worst traffic accident I have ever seen."
