YEMENI residents of the city have come together to celebrate Robert Burns Day.
Held at Community Central Halls in Maryhill, the event was a tribute to the great Scottish poet.
Organisers aimed the celebration at people who arrived here from Yemen but everyone was welcome to attend.
Hoping to strengthen the link between the two countries and bring the community together, the occasion included performances of poems, music and food.

Sammy Alakil, Chairman of organiser Yemeni Scottish Foundation said: "Poetry is a thing that Yemenis are very proud of and very connected to, regular people can write poems, it’s the way they communicate at times.
"We thought if we introduce them to Robert Burns, a famous poet from Scotland, and maybe the best English-speaking poet, they will feel that connection straight away.
"Yemen is known for its Arabic poetry and its music, there are so many similarities between Yemen and Scotland and that is one of the key things we would like to highlight in our events, in terms of art and culture.
"The event was a celebration of bagpipes, Robert Burns’ poetry, music Yemeni poetry, music and also some food with an option for vegetarian haggis."
