Southsiders will welcome a sweet addition to the neighbourhood next weekend as an exciting new independent bakery gets ready to open its doors.
Glasgow Cakes will open on Saturday, February 5 on Pollokshaws Road after months of preparation and planning.
Owners Ishrat and Mariyah Anwar said on social media: "We’ve been busy preparing for the shop opening.
"Massive thank you to all of our amazing customers, friends and family for the continuous love and support.
"We are finally making our dreams come true!"
The artisan bakers have, until now, operated as a wholesale business from their home creating beautiful bespoke celebration cakes.

The new shop will be their first permanent home allowing them to share their bakes with more lucky customers than ever.
We're excited to see how they've transformed the unit on one of Shawland's busiest streets and going by a sneak peek we can expect bright and fresh interiors with modern fixtures.
