A HOUSING association have postponed a kitchen renovation project due to tradesmen falling ill with Covid-19.

Contractor CCG who are delivering the work on behalf of Thenue Housing Association are experiencing "significant issues" as a result of staff self-isolating or contracting coronavirus.

Certain numbers of tradespeople are required to carry out the kitchen replacements to ensure tenants are not left without.

The housing association have now taken the decision to postpone the kitchen replacements until the situation at the contractors improves.

They have reassured tenants that the company has not collapsed.

A statement from Tenue Housing Association said:  "Thenue apologises for any inconvenience to tenants this may cause and can assure tenants the programme will re-start as soon as possible.

"CCG will continue to carry out new boiler installations in properties due new boilers only. The kitchen programme will re-start when CCG confirm they have resources to complete the contract."
