SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford has been ordered to leave the House of Commons after he accused Boris Johnson of lying and misleading parliament.

After the Prime Minister said he as “sorry” adding “sorry for the things we simply didn’t get right” after the Sue Gray report was published, Blackford said Johnson had “willfully misled Parliament”.

The Speaker, Lindsay Hoyle, ordered the SNP leader to withdraw the remark and when he repeated it was ordered to leave.

Stewart McDonald, Glasgow South SNP MP, said on twitter, of the incident:  "The liar stays in place and the guy that pointed out the liar lied is booted out."

Blackford also spoke out on twitter to repeat his allegation the Prime Minister lied.

He said, posting a video of the moment he was asked to leaver: "This is what truth to power looks like at Westminster.

"A liar is allowed to keep his place- I am forced to leave for telling the truth.

"He misled the house, he must go. Tories must look themselves in the mirror and ask if they can allow this to go on much longer? Remove him now."

The exchange came after Labour Leader, Keir Starmer, accused Johnson of being “unfit for office” and “a man without shame”.

He said Johnson was “falling back on his usual excuses.  It is everybody’s fault but his.”

Former Prime Minister Theresa May put her successor under pressure with a question.

She said the public had the right to expect the Prime Minister to understand the meaning of the rules.

She added: “Number 10 was not observing the regulations”.”

She asked: “They wither didn’t read or understand tor think they applied to them. Which was it? “

The Prime Minister had earlier said he understood the anger and said:“I get it and I will fix it.”
