Residents of Trinity Tower in Glasgow worry they won't be able to return for months.

The West End landmark was evacuated last weekend over fears that strong winds from Storm Malik may damage it.

An 'exclusion zone' was set up around Old Trinity College, in the Park Circus area of the city, and the surrounding area over worries that existing structural issues may be exacerbated.

Glasgow City Council warned locals they will be out of their homes for 'considerably longer than 24 hours' but no timescale was given.

Now, residents fear they might not be able to move back for months, according to reports.

Local Keith McIvor, who is temporarily staying with a friend, said returned home last Saturday to see his street closed off and was only allowed to collect a few belongings before being asked to leave.

He added that some tenants are worried about their homes being broken into while they are away.

He told BBC Scotland: "It's a bit of a nightmare.

"They said there would be security but when I was up earlier I couldn't see anything."

Mr McIvor added that communication was "terrible to begin with".

Another resident, who asked BBC Scotland not to name him, said: "Nobody can tell me anything.

"I don't know what's happening."

He estimated that around 60 to 100 households were evacuated from the area.

The resident also said he was unsatisfied with communication as he has been moved around several hotels since last weekend, only to end up booking his own accommodation, so he can keep his dogs.
