COMEDIAN Janey Godley has shared images of her new pixie cut on social media.

The 61-year-old - who has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer - took to Twitter to show fans her haircut following a visit to Glasgow salon.

Alongside two pictures, the funnywoman wrote: "Thanks Kroma Hair on Great Western Raod - my pixie cut is complete thanks to Jordi."

Janey previously revealed plans to cut off her long hair as she started chemotherapy treatment so if it fell out it wouldn't look like a "lion's mane".

Many fans tweeted the star back with messages of support in response to the pictures.

One user wrote: "You look wonderful.

"I found it liberating when I lost my hair during my treatment over five years ago and I've never grown it long again since."

Another said: "You might not believe it but I absolutely loved having no hair five years ago.

"Good luck with everything. Take care."

A third person wrote: "I lost my hair completely when I had my cancer and after the initial shock I loved it.

"You rock honey."
