SCOTTISH singer Marti Pellow has revealed his love of a British classic - fish and chips.

The former Wet Wet Wet star, 56, told fans on social media he was having his first fish and chips of the year.

The Clydebank-born singer then urged fans to reveal the best fish and chips spots in the UK so he knows where to go when he tours later this year.

He said: "First fish and chips of the year!

"I need to know where the best fish and chips are in your humble opinion? Go on inspire me!

"When I'm going back on the road this kinda info is priceless Knowledge is power!

"Love to love Marti x"

The post went viral with fans commenting in their hundreds.

Anne Tolland said: "Well the fish boat in your home town of Clydebank isn’t too shabby."

Debbie Johnstone added: "Well Marti, I'd suggest you visit Paisley for chippy culinary delights.

"Castelvecchi in New Street (Paolo Nutini’s Dads shop) or Allan’s in Storie Street.

"Although I’d cut the peas oot!

"I’m sure the chippy staff would like a rendition of Caledonia! True story!"

Karen Fisher Barrie added: "It has to be the Blue Lagoon. Can't beat it after a night in the town. Bag of chips before the last train."

Marti is touring the UK performing his greatest hits with dates lined up in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on April 13.
