A TEENAGER has been arrested and charged after a car allegedly stolen from a town near Glasgow has been found.

Police officers received a report that a car was stolen from the Carluke area yesterday.

Police Scotland confirmed that the vehicle was found after officers from another area assisted the cops, but did not specify the location.

A 16-year-old teenager has also been arrested and charged with a number of road traffic offences.

He is due to appear before Airdrie Sheriff Court tomorrow.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Saturday, February 19, officers received a report of a car stolen from the Carluke area.

"The vehicle was located and officers were also assisted by colleagues from another force area during this incident.

"A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of road traffic offences.

"He is due before Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday, February 21. A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
