A POPULAR cafe in Glasgow city centre is set to close its doors for the 'foreseeable future'.

Puti Vegan Cafe in Cambridge Street announced today that their last day of business would be March 30.

They explained on their social media page that their lease was ending and was not being renewed.

Despite the bad news, the team assured that they would keep customers updated with any future decisions.

The statement read: "With great sadness, Puti will be closing its doors for the foreseeable future.

"Our last business day will be Wednesday March 30.

"This is due to the ending of our lease where renewing was not an option given by the landlord.

"We’ve managed to build up a big family from nothing and it’s a big thanks to you ALL. We’re truly gutted but any future updates, we will be posting on Facebook and Instagram!

"From every staff at Puti, we thank you all, our Puti Family for the constant support throughout the years and hopefully we’re able to see as many faces as possible before our door finally closes."

Puti specialises in Pan-Asian cuisine and is known for serving vegan munchie boxes, using a build-your-own strategy.

Customers reacted to the news, with one commenting: "Oh no, so sad about this. You are without a doubt the best vegan restaurant in Glasgow.

"I hope you will pop up somewhere else in the city. Best Wishes."

Another said: "Oh no, hope you find somewhere new as your food and service are amazing."

One said that they were coming to Glasgow next week and would be sure to visit Puti.

Elsewhere in the city, Viva Ristorante announced that they would be closing after 17 years.

On Bath Street, popular buffet China Buffet King is closing 'until further notice'.
