The Aye Write Book Festival is set to return to its home at the Mitchell library for the first time in two years this May.
This year's impressive lineup will see a whole host of famous faces from Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie to renowned crime writer Val McDermid take the stage for a series of live events.
The festival will run over three weekends from May 6 to 22 and feature over two hundred author talks and panel events at the Mitchell Library, Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall and the Tramway exhibition space.

Alongside the action-packed programme, which will be released in full on March 25, there will also be a fantastic range of digital events led by Damon Galgut, last year’s Booker Prize winner for The Promise.
Aye Write programmer, Bob McDevitt, said: “We could not be more delighted to announce our return to the celebrated Mitchell Library, and it promises to be a return full of all the bookish treats that our loyal Aye Write audience has come to expect.
“If the pandemic taught us anything, it is that we should value, perhaps above all else, the ability to exchange our experiences and stories, face-to-face, within a shared space. No technology – no matter how impressive – can replicate that.
“This year, we are more excited than ever to invite audiences back into our city’s shared space of the unparalleled Mitchell Library to celebrate our reunion.”

As well as the Aye Write festival, the Wee Write children's book festival will run from April 25 to 30 this spring.
Expect to see Horrid Henry author Francesca Simon, a celebration of 25 years of Harry Potter magic with illustrator Jonny Duddle, and a special appearance by classic children’s favourite The Gruffalo.
Both events are produced by Glasgow Life with support from The National Lottery through Creative Scotland.
Councillor David McDonald, Chair of Glasgow Life, said: “The return of the Aye Write and Wee Write book festivals this spring will provide the perfect opportunity to hear from a fantastic range of award-winning, debut and much-loved authors both online and in Glasgow’s iconic Mitchell Library.
“With our city’s libraries once again welcoming people back through their doors, Aye Write and Wee Write will offer us a chance to come together again to celebrate the joy of books, through its signature mix of unusual, funny and fascinating writers and conversation.”
The Aye Write Festival will run from May 6 to 22.
