A shop worker has been left 'shaken' after an attempted robbery that took place yesterday in Glasgow's Southside.

At around 5:40 pm on Saturday, March 12 a masked man entered a Shop Local on Clarkston Road in Cathcart.

He then began to threaten a male staff member and claimed to have a weapon as he demanded money.

When the staff refused to give in to his requests he left without any cash or valuables.

There were no injuries reported following the incident.

Detectives are now appealing for any information that members of the public might have concerning the suspect.

He is described as white, around 5ft 7in tall, of thin build and aged between 25 and 26-years-old.

He was wearing a blue tracksuit with hood up and a black face mask.

Detective Constable Natalie Timothy, of the Robbery Unit at Govan Police Office, said: "We are currently carrying out enquiries in the area and gathering CCTV footage to trace the man responsible.
