A NEW Greek restaurant will open its doors to customers later this month, it has been confirmed.

We previously reported that Gyros, a 'grab and go' style diner, will open in the former Martha's deli at Byres Road, in Glasgow's West End.

It has since been confirmed that the venue, which is currently undergoing refurbishment, will open in late March.

Andrew Kangulu, general manager, said: "Customers to our fast casual-dining experience will be treated to delicious flavours of modern Greek street food, inspired by the casual Gyros venues that are found throughout Greece.

"The Gyros team will use time-honoured cooking methods, familiar recipes and quality produce."

Chicken, pork, lamb, meatball, king prawn as well as plant-based alternative Gyros and Souvlaki are at the heart of the menu that also offers falafel, skepasti (Greek pizza), halloumi loaded fries, pitas, and dips.

The store is spearheaded by the team behind popular restaurant Halloumi.
