COMMUTERS in Glasgow are facing some travel disruption on Monday morning, as a number of trains are delayed following a fault on a railway line in the city.

Scotrail is warning passengers on Twitter of changes to services after a signalling issue emerged between Partick and Hyndland.

As a result trains on the following routes are subject to delays and alteration:

  • Dalmuir to Springburn
  • Helensburgh to Edinburgh via Bathgate
  • Milngavie to Edinburgh via Bathgate
  • Airdrie to Balloch

The company also informed customers that a Network Rail team is on site and trying to locate the fault.

The tweet reads: "We’ve been advised by @NetworkRailSCOT of a signalling issue between Partick and Hyndland. Staff are on site."

In an update, it wrote: "Staff are still fault finding and our Airdrie / Balloch services are also subject to delay or alteration.

"We’re sorry if your journey time has been extended as a consequence of this signalling fault."

Scotrail announced around 11.30am that the issue has been identified and fixed and trains are running as normal.

Passengers can claim Delay Repay compensation for delays of 30 or more minutes through the Scotrail mobile app.
