Janey Godley is facing her ‘last chemo’ with a hopefully end in sight for her cancer journey.

The brave Scots comic has her ‘fingers crossed’ that her ovarian cancer will be gone by May 17th if her treatment goes well.

The 60-year-old was diagnosed last November with the cruel disease forcing her to cancel her upcoming shows while she recovered.

She underwent a hysterectomy in January to remove her tumour, which she named 'bunty'.

The Glasgow funny woman has been candid online with her health journey to let fans know how she has been doing throughout it.

Today she tweeted: “Hopefully my last chemo, fingers crossed that cancer is all gone, will be 17th May and I am counting down to that date.”

She also begged Scots to look after each other as vulnerable people like herself stay at high risk with coronavirus.

She tweeted: “I still have to mask up and stay safe due to chemo and many vulnerable people aren’t ready in Scotland to “live with covid” but if we all try to keep each other safe - maybe we will survive this ? We can try?”

Janey started treatment in November and has thanked everyone for sending her well wishes, including Nicola Sturgeon who sent 'thoughts and strength'.

Sharing an emotional video on Twitter she told followers she had 'cried and cried' over the news.

She said: "I'm really sorry I can't make the Musselburgh and Edinburgh shows this weekend, it's the very last dates of the tour and the tour has been so brilliant and so well attended and successful.

"Unfortunately while I was doing the tour I, unbeknownst to me, had ovarian cancer.

"I want to thank everyone for all their support and all their help and for coming out and sharing so much laughter with me.”
