A ‘wild’ racist thug viciously assaulted a mum and her schoolgirl daughter outside a Stormzy gig.

Michelle Winton, 47, took 13-year-old Miaha to her first concert at the Hydro in Glasgow on Monday night to watch the artist perform.

But they claim after leaving the venue at around 10.20pm a man began to hurl racist slurs at them before punching the shocked mother in the face.

The terrifying incident happened in front of her traumatised daughter who tried to pull the attacker off her mum - only she claims to be then assaulted herself in an area outside the Finnieston venue between the Hydro and Scottish Event Campus.

The pair, from Edinburgh, have now been left badly bruised and traumatised by the incident with Miaha too scared to return to Glasgow or any music concert.

Michelle choked back tears as she said: “The guy was completely wild, I have had racist abuse before but never in my life have I been attacked like this.

“He started racially verbally abusing us before punching me full in the face in front of my daughter.

“She tried to get him off me but he then punched her and pulled her hair, she’s only 13.

“I was shouting for help because he just kept hitting us.

“It was just bang out of order to attack my daughter like that, she’s a minor and he was so vicious.

“It was her first concert and was supposed to be a happy memory, but now she is too scared to ever go to a concert again or back to Glasgow.

“He cannot get away with this.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called around 10.40pm on Monday 4 April to a report of a hate crime whereby two women and a 13-year-old girl were assaulted.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
