A BID to open a café in a former hairdresser's store has been rejected by Glasgow City Council.
Applicant Noblesse Cafe hoped to transform the former Philosophi Hairdressing building at 81 Candleriggs in the Merchant City.
But planning bosses did not approve the plans.
They said that suitable arrangements for the dispersal of fumes cannot be provided to the satisfaction of the local authority.
In the decision document, it stated: "The proposed lack of suitable methods for dispersal of cooking fumes is considered may have a detrimental impact on neighbouring properties in terms of odour nuisance at the locus."
Four members of the public objected to the plans.
