PLANS for a new residential development in Glasgow's Gorbals have been submitted to the council.

New Gorbals Housing Association has detailed their proposals for the Pine Place Housing Development, which will provide homes for social rent.

It's hoped that 18 flats and 10 terraced houses can be built, along with parking and landscaping at the site of the former Gorbals Health Centre, which closed in 2019.

The housing association owns the site which they purchased from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Within the five-storey block of flats, there will be space for 18 cycling parking spaces, and two wheelchair flats.

There will be a total of 22 car parking spaces across the development.

The terraced homes will have their own gardens.

In planning documents, it states: "There is a secure courtyard space between the apartment block and the terraced houses. This is the amenity space for the residents of the apartment block and it will provide communal open space, seating areas, play spaces, and washing lines."

One objection has been put forward by a nearby resident.

The woman said the block of flats will "block the sunlight" her flat gets and will be a "massive infringement" on her privacy.

She also highlighted the "massive" amount of noise disruption the works will cause, as well as parking issues.

A decision on the proposals will be made by Glasgow City Council by June 10.
