A MAN was seen "soaked in blood" after being seriously assaulted in Renfrew.

Cops were called to Paisley Road, near Viewpark Gardens, at around 1.45pm on Thursday, May 19.

The area was taped off, and officers were still guarding the scene until 6pm. 

An eyewitness said they saw "two guys fighting".

Another added they saw "a guy with a big bandage soaked in blood around his head". 

Cops say a man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment following the incident. 

An investigation is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are carrying out enquiries after a man was seriously assaulted in Paisley Road, Renfrew about 1.45pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022. 

"The man was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”
