RENFREW Gala Day returns this year with lots of fun on offer.

Held in Robertson Park from 12-5pm on Sunday, June 5, families across Renfrewshire are invited to attend.

The theme of this year’s event is "Kings and Queens" to tie in with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Activities will include football, rugby, dance and circus skills, and there will also be a funfair and inflatables.

The McMaster Centre tearoom will be serving food and drink, along with a selection of food vendors.

There will be plenty of bargains on offer at the stalls, meanwhile, local musicians and dancers will provide live entertainment throughout the day.

Lorraine Cameron, Renfrewshire’s Provost, said: “Our gala days are very important for our communities, as they encourage people of all ages to join together in celebrating everything that’s good about the local area and I’m glad to see these return in 2022.

“It’s a fantastic day out for all the family and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”

As part of Gala Week, there will be a special "Renfrew on Film" screening at Renfrew Town Hall on Tuesday, June 7.

The sold-out screening will feature local films old and new, with music from Renfrew Burgh Band, and will include the premiere of a new film about local writer Ely Percy and a special celebration of 60 years of Kirklandneuk Primary School.
