A FAMILY are holding a fundraising night for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity after it helped their little girl.

Devoted mum Ashleigh Kennedy, 36, and Faith's dad, who doesn’t want to be named, are raising money for the life saving facility to thank them for their work with daughter Faith Miller.

It comes after the four-year-old, from Glasgow, was born with the "life limiting illness" only having “half a heart”.

The congenital defect left her unable to develop the left side of her heart meaning she has needed major surgeries to improve her quality of life.

In March the youngster underwent a brutal 15 hour operation for the fourth time at the Royal Hospital for Children.

Now her family are hosting a fundraiser at the Shipyard function suite in Clydebank on Friday, September 2 at 7.30pm.

Admission is a donation towards the charity at the door with the event promising a DJ, buffet, live floor entertainment, and a visit from the hospital mascot bear.

Her family are now praising the amazing work the NHS has done for them since Faith has been in hospital.

It comes after they experienced the "best teamwork" they had ever seen at the Royal Hospital for Children.

They previously told the Glasgow Times: "We would like to say a massive thank you to the staff at Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow Ward 1E and Critical Care.

"Faith has had loads of appointments via the cardiology department.

"From day one of us being admitted to ward 1E, we received an excellent welcome from Louise charge nurse and her excellent team of staff.

"This is the best teamwork I have seen in a hospital setting.”
