A TEEN mum has been left heartbroken after her "happy" baby died "in her arms".
Gypsymarie Codona is devastated after losing her beautiful son, Mason-Lee, last week.
The 15-month-old suffered heart failure after having undergone three major open-heart surgeries in his short life.
Now his 19-year-old mum, who lives in Barrhead, has paid tribute to her baby who was “full of life” despite his health struggles.
It comes after the tot was born with heart defects, lung problems, hyperinsulinism, transposition of the great arteries, and ventricular septal defect and pulmonary stenosis.
It meant he spent months in hospital and cardiac wards but still remained a smiley, happy tot.
Gypsymarie told the Glasgow Times: “He was always happy and full of life even after all he had been through.
“He had three heart defects, transposition of the great arteries, ventricular septal defect and pulmonary stenosis, and an underlying lung problem.
“Doctors were looking deeper into see what exactly [was wrong] but couldn’t seem to find out. On May 13 [they said there] was nothing more they could do for him.
“They said it could be weeks or months before he passed, but it was three weeks after finding out that [he then] passed, peacefully and pain-free in my arms.”
A GoFundMe has now been set up to help the family pay for the tiny tot’s funeral and to pay tribute to his memory.
