Update: Pensioner, 76, dies following fire at block of flats
FIREFIGHTERS are dealing with a blaze at a block of flats in Glasgow's East End.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at Ruby Street, Bridgeton, shortly after 6am this morning.
Fire crews are still at the scene.
Ambulances and police officers were also sent to the incident. It's not yet known if anyone has been injured.
A local resident said the block of flats was sealed off.
A tweet from a nearby primary school showed the extent of the emergency response.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.03am on Friday, June 24, to reports of a dwelling fire at Ruby Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow.
“Operations control mobilised six fire appliances and one height vehicle to attend a fire affecting a flat within a multi-storey building.
“Crews are still at the scene.”
Police Scotland said enquiries into the fire are ongoing.
A force spokesperson said: "Police and emergency services are currently dealing with a fire at a block of flats on Ruby Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow to which they were called around 6.45am this morning, Friday, June 24, 2022.
"Enquiries are continuing. No risk to other residents within the block of flats."
A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson added: "We received a call at 6.19am this morning to attend a fire in Bridgeton, Glasgow. We dispatched two special operations response teams and an ambulance to the scene."
