A thug spat all over a police van whilst verbally abusing cops.

Sean Ferry was arrested in relation to another matter just before midnight on May 7 and was being taken to London Road police office when he began to kick-off.

Last week, Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that the 34-year-old began to spit everywhere.

Prosecutor Laura Martin said: “He was inflicting injury on himself by knocking his head off cell doors and violently kicking and punching the doors.

“He made the following remarks, ‘I’ll remember your face, I’ll get you’, ‘you bunch of s**tbags’, ‘I’m going to punch f**k out both of yous, she’ll get slapped then you’ll get slapped’.

“He was processed and continued to shout and swear.

“He stated ‘what is your name? It’ll be Mohammed’, ‘you’re a p**i’, and ‘you’re one of the Asians aren’t you’.

“He was not cautioned and charged due to his level of intoxication.”

Ferry, of Govan, appeared from custody.

His lawyer said: “He appreciates the conduct was reprehensible. Alcohol was taken. That’s certainly not an excuse, but it serves as an explanation.

“He’s trying to deal with his alcohol issues. His record does him no favours.”

Sheriff Allan Findlay revealed Ferry had been in custody for nearly two months.

He sentenced him to three months and 14 days in prison, backdated to May 9 when he was first remanded.
