FIRE crews were called following the landing of a Jet2 airplane at Glasgow Airport this morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their attendance and added that they were asked to inspect an aircraft on the runway.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene shortly after 8am but, on arrival, crews were no longer needed.
An eyewitness said: "The plane was surrounded by fire appliances on landing at Glasgow Airport. After it was moved to the taxi area, it was once again surrounded by appliances with their booms extended."
A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.14am on Monday, July 11, to inspect an aircraft on a runway at Glasgow Airport.
“Operations control mobilised four fire appliances to the area, however, on arrival firefighters were not required and crews left the scene.”
Glasgow Airport and Jet2 have been contacted for comment.
