Filming continues in Glasgow on new ITV drama The Elect.

The four-part series – starring Grey’s Anatomy heartthrob Kevin McKidd – is a Western adaptation of Japanese crime novel Six/Four.

As reported by the Glasgow Times previously, filming has taken place across the city since May.

Glasgow Times:

Earlier today, production crews shot scenes at The State Bar on Holland Street near to Sauchiehall Street.

Nearby residents were sent a letter apologising in advance for any potential disturbance, but it appeared to be a painless process with no road closures or disruptions.

Taking place between roughly 8am and 1pm, a small crew with minimal outdoor equipment wrapped up their shots while photographers awaited a glimpse of star man McKidd.

Sadly however, the Trainspotting actor was not in attendance this time. Co-star of the show, Vinette Robinson, could be seen though as she was filmed entering the pub for an indoor scene, before being whisked away when shooting was over.

Glasgow Times:

From time-to-time members of the public would stop and stare at the set, wondering what was going on, but some knew more than others.

One bystander said: “It’s so exciting to have this on my doorstep. I love Grey’s Anatomy.”

Glasgow Times:

The show is due to premiere in 2023 on ITV’s new streaming platform ITVX, and will also feature names such as James Cosmo MBE, Richard Coyle, and Saskia Ashdown.
