A RESTAURANT worker got behind the wheel of a car more than two-and-a-half times the limit.
Euan Park, 36, went out drinking with friends after work and then choose to drive a car in the early hours of April 26, 2022.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court this week, prosecutor Derek Buchanan said: “At 3.50am, the accused was driving the vehicle on Paisley Road West and Harvie Street. He was stopped by police for a document check.

“When officers approached the accused, he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He failed the roadside breath test.
“He was arrested and taken to Helen Street police office and provided a specimen of breath.”
This showed Park was more than two-and-a-half times the limit.
His lawyer said: “He no longer has the vehicle. It has been disposed of. He works in a city centre Korean restaurant. The disqualification will not affect his work.”
But Sheriff Patricia Pryce replied: “This is his second such offence in a short period of time. Is there an underlying issue?”

The defence solicitor said: “No, he tells me he was out with friends after work and had a large amount of drink and got back in the car.”
Sheriff Pryce deferred sentencing for social work reports to be obtained.
She said: “I’m deeply concerned about his process of thought. I think there’s something wrong with his consequential thinking.”
Park, of Possilpark, will return to court in August.
