THE chief of Topgolf has paid a visit to the company’s first Scottish venue.

CEO Artie Starrs was checking on the progress ahead of its opening later this year.

The new three-level venue in Rutherglen will create a completely new, modern golfing experience, including point-scoring games, bars and restaurants.

The American-based company is creating 300 new jobs for the local area and recruitment for management positions is underway.

Recruitment for hourly paid positions will begin after the summer.

Artie Starrs said: “This is my first trip to our new venue and it’s taking great shape as we prepare for our official opening towards the end of the year.

Topgolf is a key part of Clyde Gateway, one of Scotland’s biggest regeneration programmes, backed by South Lanarkshire Council, Clyde Gateway and the Scottish Government.
