A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of Peter Kirkwood in Lanark.
The 24-year-old was pronounced dead on Mousebank Road at around 1.55am on Saturday, July 16.
This morning, Police Scotland announced a suspect, aged 44, had been arrested and charged in connection with Mr Kirkwood's death.

Kevin Geoghegan, of Lanark, made no plea when he appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court to face the murder charge.
The case was committed for further examination with Geoghegan remanded in custody.
His next appearance will be within the next eight days.
