Emergency crews were called to rescue a person from the Forth and Clyde Canal.

Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service were alerted to the incident within Glasgow’s Maryhill Road shortly before 8.30am today.

In a Facebook post, No1seems2care said: “Rescue vehicles on Maryhill Road near to the canal at the fire station.

“Ambulance parked further up. Hope everything is okay.”

Police Scotland said one person was “recovered safely”.

A force spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a person in the canal, near Maryhill Road in Glasgow around 8.25am on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

“They have been recovered safely with the assistance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”
